Step 1: Place a large towel around the child’s shoulder. Cover the neck completely.
Step 2: Apply oil to the hair and remove any tangles using a regular comb. It will make it easier for you to comb. Also, ensure that there is good light in the room where you are sitting.
Step 3: Use hair clips or pins to part the hair into four sections and comb one section at a time.
Step 4: Hold one section with one hand and take the comb to the scalp. Then, pull the comb all the way to the end of the hair. It will remove the head lice as well as the nits.
Step 5: Make sure that you wipe off the comb frequently with a toilet paper or paper towel.
Step 6: Once you are done with the first section, do the same thing in other sections.
Step 7: Once done, make sure you wash the clothes of the child wearing at the time of combing.
Step 8: Seal the used paper towels in a garbage bag or flush them down the toilet.
Step 9: If you want to comb someone else’s hair too, then wash the nit comb, regular comb and hair clips with boiling water.
Step 10: Once done, wash the combs as well as the clips in bleach water.
You must repeat this cycle everyday for the next 2 weeks.
However, some medicines may require you to do net picking after 2 days.
